Yugo Zastava M72 RPK Complete Parts Kit/Build Kit, Original M72 Barrel, M72 Milled 80%

The Yugo M72 is the heavy-barreled support variant of the AKM or AK-47"Modern" for the Yugoslavian Military. The M72 was created in 1972 (M72') by Zastava Arms, now in Serbia. The M72 has been in service since 1973, being used in countless conflicts, and it is still the weapon of the now Serbian Military. It is a testament to Mikhail Kalashnikov's genius. Designed to be very similar to the Original Russian designed "RPK" which in turn is just the light machine gun variant of the AK-47. Like the AK47 or AKModern the M72 is chambered in 7.62x36 cal. or 7.62 Rus (Russian)

NOTE: The receiver in the second picture is not the one you get with this kit. There are no axis pin holes drilled in the 80% you will receive.(first picture)

     The Yugoslavians did things differently. For example, the butt stock on the Yugo AK family of weapons cannot be interchanged with the Russian AKM or Modern AK, let alone 90% of all the known AKM variants. The list goes on with a lot of small alterations having been made to the design, it never lost sight of its purpose... To be a heavy support variant of the AK47. So, the basic receiver shape, furniture (concept), and operating system are the same. The long stroke piston gas-operating system. The barrel tho, is entirely unique in the AK world of rifles. It is iconically finned or cut discs have been made around the barrel to dissipate heat. On top of having fins, there was also a whole lot more mass in the barrel, twice as thick as a normal AKM barrel. All this was done to use the M72 in a tactical support setting of sustained fire on the battlefield. Lastly, they had bipods to make focused fire easier.

This is a 1-stop shop if you're looking to build a Milled Yugo M72 RPK. Every pin and spring is included, the 80% receiver that ships without FFL,  heavy finned, Original Yugo Barrel. (Which, cmon. is awesome. They are not easy to come by.) Along with all kinds of extras, like the (x2 Wooden Virgin type-3 AK reproduction pistol grips.)

The included 80% Receiver is in perfect condition with no axis pin holes drilled, along with all the material still intact that is required when constituting an 80$ receiver. Requires some work, but that is, the idea. NO FFL is required for purchase or delivery (local laws withstanding).

The included 21 inch/542mm long barrel is Original Yugo Military Surplus. Heavy Yugo M72 RPK take off Barrel. Great Bore. Great Overall Condition. Stamped in multiple places including on the fins. Great Blue patina as well. Chambered in 7.62x39
