East German Wieger StG-940 Surplus Magazines. Produced around 1980, the "Wieger" name is an abbreviation of both Wiesa and Germany. East Germany produced the Wieger line of AKM's, to appeal to Western-aligned or neutral countries by using the widely available 5.56x45 NATO cartridge rather than the Soviet 5.45×39 mm or 7.62×39 mm rounds.
